After multiple rumors and leaks, Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled what will be the merged app between the existing HBO Max y Discovery+: Max.
The new streaming service has been unveiled in the middle of a worldwide event and the company will have under one platform its biggest brands such as HBO, TNT, CNN, Animal Planet, Discovery, TLC and more.
The new Max
HBO Max will officially become “Max” when it launches in the U.S. on May 23.
It is described as a single destination for content from all Warner Bros. and Discovery channels following the merger of the two media giants in 2022.
Max will be available in three price levels:
Max Ad Lite
10 dollars per month / 100 per year
2 simultaneous streams, 1080p resolution, no offline downloads, 5.1 surround sound quality.
16 dollars per month / 150 per year
2 simultaneous streams, 1080 resolution, 30 offline downloads, 5.1 surround sound quality.
Max Ultimate ad-free
20 dollars per month / 200 per year
4 simultaneous streams, up to 4K UHD resolution, 100 offline downloads, Dolby Atmos sound quality.
What happens to existing HBO Max subscribers?
Anyone who currently has a subscription to HBO Max will be able to use Max at the same price as your current membership.
All existing profiles, settings, playback history and lists from current plans of HBO Max will migrate to Max at launch.
In the case of Discovery+This app will still continue as a standalone service, so users will have the opportunity to stay or simply work under the new format.
Contents in Max
The contents of the two original apps will be mixed in. Max.

Recently announced titles include an original ‘Harry Potter’ series, a faithful adaptation of the beloved original book series by JK Rowling, who will serve as executive producer; a comedy series spinoff of ‘The Big Bang Theory’; an HBO original prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’ ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’; a drama series based on ‘The Conjuring’ films; and more.
Unfortunately, there is still no date for the app’s arrival in Latin America.
