Biden announces he will run for U.S. president in 2024

As thousands of children scrambled to find the 30,000 Easter eggs hidden on the White House lawns on Monday and participated in educational activities organized alongside, U.S. President Joe Biden confirmed in an interview with NBC television network his intention to run for re-election in the November 2024 elections. However, he has insisted that he is not yet ready to make an official announcement.
“I plan to run, but we are not yet ready to announce it“Biden explained in a lighthearted interview with the program Today on the U.S. network this Monday morning, before presiding over the Easter Monday event in the gardens of his residence. For months, the president has been letting slip his willingness to run for president, although he has not yet officially confirmed it.
In his last State of the Union address, delivered in February right in the middle of his term, Biden made no reference to his possible candidacy, although he did make clear his intention to continue to govern and stressed his desire to continue beyond 2024. It was one of the last times he expressed this will, but not the only one. At the end of last year, the current president expressed in a private meeting with Reverend Al Sharpton his intention to run again, according to local media.
