Thieves cut a hole in the bathroom of a Apple Store in Washington to steal products valued at $500,000 from the location.
As reported by local media KOMO NewsThe robbery happened this Sunday night at the store located in the Alderwood Mall.
This is how the robbery went
The thieves entered the Apple Store “through the bathroom wall of the neighboring coffee machine store”.
They were initially able to enter that store, which was also closed and locked at the time, by opening the front door.
Once inside, the thieves were able to gather their haul of goods. Apple and exit through the same hole in the wall.
In total, the thieves made off with around $500,000 worth of devices. This included “approximately 436 iPhones,” as well as a collection of Apple Watch and iPad models. Apparently, the thieves were not interested in the Mac.
Planned operation
According to Maren McKay, communications manager for the Lynnwood Police Department, it was a “well-organized operation.”
The robbers wore masks and gloves, leaving no fingerprints. The investigation is still “ongoing” and police have denied requests to release surveillance camera footage.
