The Super Mario Bros. movie. has finally arrived in theaters most of the world, and from Variety we learn the box office figures for the first day of release.

According to reports, Super Mario Bros. The Movie debuted in first place at the U.S. box office with an impressive $31.7 million in box office receipts. Another film released in theaters yesterday, Air – The Big Leap Story, starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, grossed “only” $3.2 million.
