Eager Ronaldo and Portugal score again in EC qualification

Portugal also won its second European Championship qualifier by large numbers. In and against Luxembourg it became 6-0. This was not least due to the eagerness of Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored his tenth and eleventh goals against Luxembourg.
Bernardo Silva, Joao Félix, Otavio and Leão, who had missed a penalty, were also goalscorers. On Thursday, Portugal had already won 4-0 against Liechtenstein.
In the same group, Slovakia won 2-0 over Bosnia and Herzegovina. Róbert Mak and Lukas Haraslin scored.
Ronaldo opened the scoring for Portugal in the ninth minute. A header from Nuno Mendes disappeared into the goal via the striker’s foot. Félix made it 0-2 after fifteen minutes with a header, and not much later Silva was also successful with his head.
Ronaldo made his second of the evening after just over half an hour, a slide in with the left. He was substituted after more than an hour, Gonçalo Ramos coming on for him. Shortly before, Ronaldo had received a yellow card for a schwalbe.
Missed penalty
In the second half, the pace dropped and Portugal did not go to extremes to increase the score. Substitute Otávio scored with a header just under 15 minutes before time.
Leão then had the perfect opportunity to make it 0-6, but he missed from 11 meters. A little later, Leão scored with a counter shot after a solo effort.
