Ajax remains on the trail of FC Twente in the women’s premier league. Ajax recorded a trouble-free 3-0 win on a visit to Excelsior and now has two points less than FC Twente.

FC Twente’s duel with VV Alkmaar was canceled due to snow, as was the PEC Zwolle-PSV match.

Ajax had little to do with the straggler from Kralingen. At halftime it was 1-0 through a goal by Quinty Sabajo, in the second half midfielder Eshly Bakker scored twice.

Ajax’s last win was over a month ago: 2-1 against PSV. It was followed by a defeat against FC Twente in the KNVB Cup and a draw against Feyenoord in the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Fortuna loses at ADO

Dutch champion Twente suffered its first points loss of the season last week with a defeat against Fortuna Sittard. The Limburgers themselves went down 1-0 at ADO Den Haag on Friday, thanks to a penalty scored by Jaimy Ravensbergen just before time.

Sunday’s game is still scheduled between Telstar and Feyenoord.
