The Wall Street Journal reports that Elon Musk plans to create his own village in Texas.
The owner of Tesla has purchased thousands of acres near Austinthe state capital, sources said.
Why a town for Elon Musk?
Elon Musk is looking for a place where his employees can live and work. Most importantly, where he has the freedom to set his own rules.
“Executives of Boring Co. the tunneling operation of Elon Muskhave discussed and investigated founding the city in Bastrop County, about 35 miles from Austin. This would allow Musk to put some regulations on his own municipality and get his plans done faster, according to people familiar with Musk’s plans,” reported the Wall Street Journal.
While some sources indicate that Elon Musk intends that employees of Tesla y Boring Co. who work at nearby facilities are able to access affordable housing, others indicate that Elon Musk has more ambitious plans, such as creating his own city.
For now we know that Elon Musk has purchased at least 3,500 acres of land near Austin, according to official records.
