FC Den Bosch fires coach De Gier after record 13-0 defeat
Friday’s resounding 13-0 victory by PEC Zwolle over FC Den Bosch has cost the Brabanders coach his head: coach Jack de Gier has been fired effective immediately.
Den Bosch, the number eighteen in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, announces that they have ended the cooperation “by mutual agreement.”
The 54-year-old De Gier, who had been at the helm of the Bosch outfit since February 2021, still had a contract until July 1 and was already told by the new club management last month that the employment would not be renewed.
With the 13-0 win, PEC Zwolle, the frontrunner in first division and well on its way to promotion, equaled the record in professional soccer. Ajax won with the same figures in the premier league from VVV-Venlo in October 2020.
