Despite red card, frontrunner Napoli continues win streak

NOS Soccer–
Napoli has won for the eighth time in a row in the Italian league. The Serie A frontrunner knocked off Empoli with ten men: 2-0.
Empoli lent a hand to Napoli for both goals before the break. First, Ardian Ismajli worked a ball from Piotr Zielinksi into his own goal, then Victor Osimhen scored his eighth goal in eight games and his 19th in total unchallenged from the rebound.
Former PSV player Hirving Lozano wriggled free after halftime and landed a best shot that went just wide. Napoli then had to continue with ten men after a charge by Mario Rui on the scrotum of Francesco Caputo.
But even without Rui, Napoli remained dominant. Osimhen wasted a dot of a chance in the sequel after a cross from Eljif Elmas and Gianluca Gaetano shot into the side netting.
The win allowed Napoli to increase their lead over number two Internazionale, which did play a game less, to eighteen points.
