Bologna and Schouten surprising win over disappointing Inter

NOS Football–
Inter have choked on subtopper Bologna in Serie A. Visiting the number seven of the league, Stefan de Vrij and Denzel Dumfries’ team went down 1-0.
Inter recorded a narrow victory in the Champions League midweek. Against Porto it remained 0-0 for a long time, but in the closing stages Romelu Lukaku struck, giving Inter a good step towards the quarterfinals.
In the league, Inter is fighting alongside AS Roma, AC Milan, Lazio and Atalanta for a place among the first four so that it can play Champions League again next season. Its chances of winning the championship seem remote with its street-length deficit to sovereign frontrunner Napoli.
Jerdy Schouten
Visiting Bologna, Inter played a difficult game. Bologna, where former-Excelsior player Jerdy Schouten (1 international) is a weekly driving force in midfield, saw a goal by Musa Barrow disallowed for offside in the first half and a ball by Roberto Soriano hit the crossbar.
After halftime, Inter came out better, but lacked the conviction to really hurt Bologna. The stiff Bologna continued to lurk on the counter and saw their patience rewarded fifteen minutes before time.
Soriano was sent deep and poked the ball past goalkeeper André Onana without hesitation. Inter then hunted for the equalizer, but it did not come.
The difference between Inter and Napoli is now 18 points in the league due to the defeat.
