‘Toulouse revelation Van den Boomen first summer acquisition Ajax’

Branco van den Boomen will be Ajax’s first acquisition for next season. De Telegraaf and Voetbal International report that the midfielder will transfer free from Toulouse this summer, and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also tweets about it.
The 27-year-old Van den Boomen would sign a contract until the summer of 2027. Last month, the midfielder won the French Cup with Toulouse. In the Ligue 1, Van den Boomen is in a neat thirteenth place with the promoted club. The midfielder stood out with five goals and eight assists.
PSV would also have been interested in Van den Boomen.
Old acquaintance
Van den Boomen went through Ajax’s youth training, but never really managed to break through in Amsterdam. He did play in Jong Ajax.
Three years ago Van den Boomen transferred from De Graafschap to Toulouse, where he says he became successful due to the confidence of the coach. Last season he was named best player of the second division with 12 goals and 21 assists.
Van den Boomen’s transfer is the first achievement of Sven Mislintat, the new technical director at Ajax. In Amsterdam, besides reinforcements for the selection, they are also still looking for a new head coach.
