Atlético Madrid has secured second place in the Spanish league. Diego Simeone’s team was far too strong at home to lowly ranked Cadiz CF (5-1) and has passed Real Madrid, which lost Tuesday night, on the league table.

Antoine Griezmann made the difference early on behalf of Atlético. The Frenchman provided the opening goal as early as the second minute and signed for the second Madrid goal within the half hour with a devastating shot.

In the first 10 minutes after halftime, the home side made it 4-0 through Álvaro Morata and Yannick Carrasco (penalty). After Choco Lozano took care of the honorary goal with a beautiful strike, Nahuel Molina determined the final score at 5-1.
