‘Saudi Arabia withdraws from fight to host 2030 World Cup’

NOS Soccer–
Saudi Arabia had plans to host the 2030 World Cup, but that now appears to be a line in the sand. According to Spain’s Marca and others, the country has pulled out.
Following Qatar’s lead, the kingdom thought it had a good chance of bringing the World Cup to the Middle East, but now thinks the competition is too great, even though it wanted to cooperate with Greece and Egypt.
Joint bid
Spain, Portugal and Morocco have jointly submitted a World Cup bid that can count on many European and African votes.
Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay have also set their sights on hosting the World Cup as a quartet, but Spain, Portugal and Morocco are considered the most likely.
FIFA will announce the organizer(s) in September 2024. Saudi Arabia would now target the 2034 World Cup.
