Tallon Griekspoor has withdrawn from the ATP Geneva tournament with an ankle injury. He was scheduled to play Chilean Nicolás Jarry tonight in the eighth finals.

The 26-year-old Griekspoor has been troubled by his right ankle for some time. He recently had to give up at the Madrid tournament, after which he also canceled for the clay court tournament in Rome.

Geneva is also playing on gravel. It is a preparation tournament for Roland Garros, which begins Sunday. “Unfortunately, I’m not 100 percent fit,” Griekspoor wrote on Instagram. “I don’t want to take a risk in view of Roland Garros. I’ll see you in Paris.”

Griekspoor made his comeback in Geneva just yesterday. In his first match in four weeks, he won 7-5, 7-6 (3) over Italian Stefano Travaglia.

Griekspoor started the season on a high note, with tournament win in Indian Pune. At the Australian Open, he reached the third round and in Rotterdam, the semifinals were his finish.
