‘Discussion was solely about possible extension’
Arne Slot will remain at Feyenoord for the time being. There were persistent rumors in recent weeks that the coach would leave at the national champions, which were fueled when business manager Rafaela Pimenta visited Rotterdam.
“There are no transfer talks and there haven’t been any and yesterday’s discussion was solely about a possible extension,” Slot told the Algemeen Dagblad. “All talks with Feyenoord are only focused on that. I am looking forward to the new season at Feyenoord.”
“I’ve heard a lot about other clubs’ interest in me,” Slot said. “I am grateful for the appreciation from that, but my wish is to stay at Feyenoord and build on the foundation that has been laid over the past two seasons.”
Last winter Leeds United already showed interest in the practice manager, now Slot’s name has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur. Director Dennis te Kloese was also in the interest of the latter club, to become technical director there. But he thanked for the honor.
Arne Slot was secretive about his future in recent weeks:
