Jordi Alba (34) follows Busquets and also says goodbye at FC Barcelona
Jordi Alba is leaving FC Barcelona after 11 years. The 34-year-old Spaniard’s farewell had been in the air for a while, but has now been confirmed by the club.
Alba’s contract at FC Barcelona did not actually expire until next summer, but in agreement with the club he has decided to end the commitment earlier.
Treble in 2015
Defender Alba came to FC Barcelona in 2012 and won 18 prizes: the national title six times, the national cup five times and the Champions League once. In 2015, he was part of the selection that grabbed the “treble.
This season, Alba lost his starting spot; youngster Alejandro Baldé was often preferred. Despite that, Alba still played 23 league games in which he scored twice and gave three assists.
