FC Utrecht strengthens with Orange international and ‘Miss Ajax’ Van der Most
FC Utrecht’s new team to be formed in the women’s premier league is starting to take shape. With Dutch national Liza van der Most (29) the first big name has been attracted.
Van der Most was part of the Dutch selection that became European champions in 2017 and captured silver at the World Cup two years later. She was also a first-team player on Ajax’s women’s team, which earned her “Miss Ajax” status with the national champion.
However, the injury-plagued Van der Most is calling it a day in Amsterdam after ten seasons. She expects to be fit to start preparations for the new season.
A good plan
“I hope to show the young girls what it takes to perform at the highest level,” the defender told her new club’s official club channel. “From the moment I stepped in here, I felt the warmth and noticed that there is a good plan.”
Van de Most signed for two seasons, with an option for an additional year.
