U.S. F-16 fighter crashes near Seoul

A fighter plane U.S. F-16 fighter jet crashed Saturday in an agricultural area near Osan air base, south of Seoul, South Korea, officials said.
The aircraft crashed at around 9:30 a.m. (2:30 a.m. in mainland Spain) in Pyeongtaek, about 60 kilometers from Seoul and the pilot was able to perform the ejection maneuver safely.according to South Korean authorities, quoted by Yonhap news agency.
The aircraft caught fire and was virtually destroyed in the incident, but no injuries were reported. There were also no dwellings near the site.

The U.S. 51st Fighter Wing has reported that the crash occurred at 9:45 a.m. near Osan Air Base and confirmed that. the pilot survived and is already in sanitary facilities.
The pilot was participating in a routine training exercise. Already an investigation has been opened to clarify the causes of the incident.
