Police in Amsterdam have detained 154 soccer supporters for singing anti-Semitic songs in the subway. These were AZ supporters who were on their way to soccer station the Arena for the Ajax-AZ match.

Around 7:30 p.m. the metro was stopped by police at Strandvliet station, near the Arena. They had been warned several times by then to stop singing, a police spokesman said. Officers were in the subway and they detained all supporters who were singing for group insult, police reported.

The 154 supporters were then bused to a cell complex. There they will be identified and checked to see if they committed any other offenses. For example, according to police, vandalism was also committed in the subway car.
