Taiwan warns that two Chinese reconnaissance drones have flown over the island “for the first time”.
Taiwanese authorities warned Friday that two reconnaissance drones of the People’s Liberation Army have overflown the island “for the first time” shortly after denouncing that nearly twenty Chinese aircraft have entered its airspace.
Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense has specified that an attack and reconnaissance drone, capable of carrying heavy weapons, circled the island, while another unmanned aerial vehicle made only a half-turn, moves that had not occurred until now, has collected South China Morning Post.
Early this morning, Taiwanese authorities reported that nearly twenty fighters had entered their airspace and also detected, the presence of six ships in the vicinity of the island.

The escalation of tensions in the region began with the trip to the island of the then Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, in August last year, although they have rebounded after the meeting between the President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing Wen y Kevin McCarthythe current Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
