Manchester City without Aké in FA Cup semifinal against Sheffield United
Manchester City will have to do without defender Nathan Aké Saturday afternoon in the FA Cup semifinals.
The Dutch defender is struggling with a hamstring injury, which he suffered Wednesday in the game with Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
“He is not ready yet,” City coach Pep Guardiola said in the press conference before the FA Cup match against Sheffield United. “I don’t know exactly how bad the injury is yet. The examinations are still ongoing and I hope to get more clarity in the near future.”
In addition to the FA Cup, Manchester City is still odds-on in the Premier League and the Champions League. Aké has been a regular in the English champion’s team this season.
The other semifinal will be between Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United on Sunday.
