Resident Evil: Death Island, new trailer for the next animated film in the series

Following the announcement in early February, Capcom and Kadokawa today released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Death Island, the next CG animated film in the Resident Evil series.
As can be seen in the English-language video (with Japanese subtitles), in Resident Evil: Death Island, for the first time in the series, Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine will work together. Leon was playable in Resident Evil 2, 4 and 6, while Jill was playable in Resident Evil 1, 3, 5 and Revelations. For this reason, the two never had a canonical meeting. The trailer also reveals that the film will be released in Japanese theaters on July 7.
“D.S.O. agent. Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all recently visited Alcatraz Island,” the synopsis reads.
“Following this clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them. Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi (Assassination Classroom) from a script by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass). Based on Resident Evil, the hit survival-horror game that has sold more than 130 million copies worldwide, Death Island is a new CG animated film and the sequel to Resident Evil: Revenge. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the film worldwide, excluding Japan, in the summer of 2023.”
Resident Evil: Death Island will be released outside Japan in the summer of 2023.
