RB Leipzig has reached the semifinals of the German Football Cup tournament. The club won 2-0 against Borussia Dortmund on their own field.

After just over twenty minutes, Timo Werner put the home club ahead. Well into injury time, Hungarian Willi Orbán decided the game. Former PSV player Donyell Malen played the entire match for Dortmund.

Earlier in the evening, VfB Stuttgart also reached the semifinals by winning at 1. FC Nürnberg, 0-1. Stuttgart is at the bottom of the Bundesliga.

Already on Tuesday, SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt joined the last four. Freiburg caused a surprise by eliminating Bayern Munich.
