NYPD prepares for possible protests ahead of Trump appearance: ‘We are ready to respond’

The New York Police Department (NYPD) said Sunday that its officers are “ready to respond” to planned protests ahead of former President Donald Trump’s arraignment following his indictment as part of an investigation into the alleged payment of a bribe to porn actress Stephanie Clifford, known as Stormy Daniels.

An NYPD spokesman has indicated that police officers are “on alert” and will remain “ready to respond as needed.”despite remarking that “there are no current credible threats to the city,” as reported by the newspaper The Hill.

“The NYPD ensures that thousands of events, including First Amendment activities, are conducted safely in New York City each year,” he has said, before adding that he will “make sure that everyone can peacefully exercise their rights“.
