At least six dead, three of them minors, in new school shooting in the U.S.
A young woman has entered a school in Nashville, Tennessee, armed on Monday, and killed at least three minors and three adults. This has been confirmed by a spokesman for the Police Department of this U.S. city, who added that the assailant was shot dead by the officers. Numerous people were injured in the incident.
The spokesman specified that the girl was wearing two assault rifles and a handgun. and entered the center through a side door. From the second floor he has climbed to the second floor firing multiple shots.
The deceased children had been transferred with gunshot wounds, but alive, to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and, according to John Howser, a spokesman for the center, died shortly thereafter. The adults, who were admitted to the emergency room, also died upon arrival at the hospital.
Nashville Metro Police have set up a meeting point for victims and family members. at Woodmont Baptist Church and has reported that “multiple patients” are being treated. No further details have been released. Local news portal Scoop Nashville added that all area hospitals are on alert.
Covenant School is a Christian early childhood and elementary education center founded in 2001 and to which about 200 students attend.
So far this year, the following have been recorded. at least 30 firearms incidents at U.S. schools. These events have left eight dead and 23 injured, according to data provided by the organization Everytown for Gun Safety.
