Debut at 32 and score two goals right away for Spain, Joselu does it
Joselu

That you are never too old to dream is proven by footballer Joselu. A few days before his 33rd birthday, he gave Spain victory over Norway (3-0) on his debut for the national team.

He only came on just under ten minutes before time and less than five minutes later he had already scored his first two goals. One with a clever counter header and one hard from close range.

Spain did not convince at all until then, in the debut of national coach Luis de la Fuente. The early lead gained through Dani Olmo faltered. Former Groninger Alexander Sørloth seemed to have the equalizer on his shoe with a volley, but shot wide.

No Haaland

And that while the Norwegians had to do without their superstar Erling Haaland, who missed the start of this European Championship qualifier due to a groin injury and will also not be there on Tuesday’s visit to Georgia.

Spain will then visit Scotland, which in turn took a late distance from Cyprus (3-0) thanks to two goals from Scott McTominay.

Croatian Ivan Perisic had the Puskás Award on his shoe in Pool D against Wales, for the most beautiful goal of the year. The striker took a long pass from Luka Modric from a difficult angle suddenly on his shoe, but saw the ball flash spectacularly against the crossbar.

And then the equalizer also fell, deep into extra time. Nathan Broadhead signed for the 1-1 in Split, with Wales’ first attempt on goal.

Modric on target

The Croatians were supreme. Led by the now 37-year-old Modric, the Netherlands’ opponent in the Nations League semifinals showed a lot of technical feats, but forgot to reward themselves with goals.

Andrej Kramaric scored with a punt and also missed a great chance after halftime to decide the match early.
