Brugts shoots women PSV past Telstar, ADO Den Haag narrowly down at Feyenoord

NOS Football–
PSV won 6-1 over Telstar in the women’s premier league, thanks in part to three goals from Esmee Brugts. ADO Den Haag went down narrowly at Feyenoord (1-0) and sees winning Fortuna Sittard as a result.
Brugts, one of the biggest talents in Dutch women’s soccer, has only scored three times in the premier league this season. Against Telstar, the PSV attacker doubled her production.
Shortly before her first goal of the evening, the 2-0, striker Joëlle Smits had already scored the opening goal. Just before halftime it became 2-1, when Janou Levels worked the ball into her own goal.
After halftime, however, Telstar’s resistance was quickly broken and PSV ran out to 6-1. The fourth Eindhoven goal was of great beauty: Brugts found the crossbar with a long-range effort.
Feyenoord strikes late
In Rotterdam, Feyenoord and ADO fought out a sub-top game. The home side was the superior side, but hardly forced any chances in the first half.
After half-time Feyenoord stepped up the pressure, but ADO Den Haag had the best opportunities. Two shots from distance did not go in.
In the 83rd minute Jessica Torny’s Feyenoord struck after all. Esmee de Graaf broke through and signed for the winning goal (1-0).
Fortuna takes advantage, PEC wins
In the battle for third place, Fortuna Sittard did good business. The Limburgers took an early lead against Excelsior through Amber van Heeswijk, but got the 1-1 draw before halftime.
For a long time the game was heading for a draw, but in the closing stages Kristina Erman and Belgian top shooter Tessa Wullaerts pulled the points over the line (3-1).
PEC Zwolle was 2-0 too strong for Heerenveen through goals by Evi Maatman and Danique Noordman. Sunday Ajax, the number two on the league table, is still in action. Against VV Alkmaar, the Amsterdammers can reduce the gap with leaders FC Twente from five to two points.
