AZ asks for investigation into KNVB’s actions because of ‘backroom politics’

NOS Football

AZ wants the KNVB to commission an independent (factual) investigation into the policy makers within the soccer association. The club informed the association of this in a six-sentence letter, which is in the hands of the television program Vandaag Inside and can be read here.

If the KNVB does not comply, AZ may go to court. AZ accuses Jan Albers, chairman of the KNVB’s supervisory board, of “backroom politics.”

For example, Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord are said to have preferential positions within the association. AZ cites numerous examples, including the settlement of the 2019/2020 corona season and the introduction of NL League, an interest grouping of professional clubs and leagues.
