Footballers Twente have no problem with VV Alkmaar and consolidate leading position

With a resounding victory over VV Alkmaar, FC Twente’s footballers have taken some distance from their nearest rival at the head of the Azerion women’s premier league, Ajax, for the time being. At sports campus Diekman in Enschede, coach Joran Pot’s team won 5-0 on Tuesday night.
After substantial chances for Kim Everaerts (just wide), Renate Jansen (shots on crossbar and post), it was Fenna Kalma who opened the scoring after just over half an hour. Jansen, on a pass from Everaerts, and Suzanne Giesen, ensured that Twente could go into halftime with a large 3-0 lead.
Quickly two hits
In the first fifteen minutes after halftime, Twente was successful twice in a short period of time. First Danique Kerkdijk headed in a cross from Marisa Olislagers, a few minutes later Kalma made her second of the evening.
Thanks to the win, Twente is now five points ahead of Ajax, which did play one less game. VV Alkmaar remains tenth.
The match between Twente and VV Alkmaar was scheduled a week and a half ago, but could not take place then due to snowfall. As a result, Alkmaar has a tough week. An away game at Ajax awaits on Sunday. Twente is off this weekend.
