Dick Advocaat will call it quits as trainer of ADO Den Haag after this season. That is what various media report and the 75-year-old coach confirmed the news to De Telegraaf.

Late last year Advocaat began his coaching job in The Hague as successor to the sacked Dirk Kuijt. Under his leadership, ADO rose in the league table, in part due to a run of eleven games without defeat. In the cup, his team reached the quarter-finals.

Advocaat came out of his coach’s retirement especially for ADO, but he thinks it was nice after this season. “I said beforehand that I would inform ADO of my decision in time, so they could look for a new trainer for next season,” he said earlier.

Whether his departure from ADO will – for real – bring a definitive end to Advocaat’s coaching career is not known.
