With the defeat, ADO has lost the lead in the third period. If Almere City wins Friday against Jong Utrecht, that team is assured of play-offs for promotion to the premier league.

ADO Den Haag, the new number 13 in the first division, was eliminated last Thursday in the cup by PSV (3-1). Then coach Dick Advocaat, with an eye on the league, opted for a B-team. Against Heracles he therefore opted for the ‘A-team’. However, this was not to be seen.

Nikolai Laursen scored after only eleven minutes from a header for Heracles Almelo. In the 39th minute Justin Hoogma doubled the score through a nick. This was preceded by a mistake by goalkeeper Sonny Stevens.

In the second half ADO recovered somewhat, but it could no longer threaten Heracles’ victory. Indeed, it was Heracles that scored once more ten minutes before time. Ismail Azzaoui shot the goal from distance.

Willem II gives away victory

Willem II failed to regain the fourth position in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. The Brabanders gave away a lead in injury time, eventually making it 2-2.

Jong Ajax, which included first-team players Lorenzo Lucca, Francisco Conceição and Kian Fitz-Jim, suffered a defeat against TOP Oss (1-2).
