Lazio delivers second defeat of the season to Napoli in Serie A

In Italy, Lazio caused a huge surprise by inflicting frontrunner Napoli with their second defeat of the season. The number four side triumphed 1-0 in Naples.

Napoli had won 21 of its 24 league matches this preferable season, losing only at Inter. Lazio moved slightly closer to leader Napoli thanks to the win, but the difference remains very large at seventeen points.

Lazio started strongly in Naples and after only five minutes Giovanni Di Lorenzo had to save on the line from a header by Matías Vecino. Napoli did have the ball after that, but more than two shots by Piotr Zielinski did not yield any results.

After more than an hour, Vecino scored with a delightful volley. In a scrimmage on the opposite side, Victor Osimhen hit the crossbar. On the other hand, a free kick by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic also hit the crossbar.
