Van Bommel after penalties and goal Janssen to cup final with Antwerp

NOS Soccer–
Royal Antwerp has advanced to the final of the Belgian Cup tournament. Coach Mark van Bommel’s team won after penalties from Union Sint-Gillis. Three-time cup winner Antwerp made up for the 1-0 deficit of the away game through a wonderful free kick by Vincent Janssen.
Also in Antwerp’s lineup were Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Calving Stengs and Gyrano Kerk, as well as former Ajax player Toby Alderweireld.
In the penalty box series, Janssen, who has so far played 22 international matches for the Dutch national team, missed the first penalty. Antwerp still managed to win the series 4-3 in the end.
In the final, Antwerp will take on KV Mechelen, which qualified for the final match on Tuesday at the expense of Zulte Waregem. Antwerp and Mechelen (which won the cup twice before) also took on each other in the 1992 cup final. Then Antwerp was the strongest.
