Murdoch admits Fox News commentators backed false claims against Biden victory
Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has admitted that some guest commentators on Fox News television network endorsed false claims. that the 2020 election, in which Joe Biden won, was stolen from former President Donald Trump.
“Some of our commentators backed him up.”Murdoch stated under oath in a defamation suit, when asked if some of the presenters defended the thesis that the electoral victory did not belong to Biden.
However, the businessman has denied that the company endorsed Trump’s election lies as an entity.. The publication of Murdoch’s statement has also revealed that Murdoch referred to some of Trump’s election lies as “nonsense”.
Fox News, for its part, has attacked the whistleblower company, voting machine manufacturer Dominion, calling the claim “dubious. “Dominion’s lawsuit has always been more focused on what will generate headlines than on what will stand up to legal and factual scrutiny,” reads a statement picked up by CNN.
Thus, the media company Has defended the actions of its executives and guests during the 2020 election.claiming that on-air claims of voter fraud have been taken out of context.
All in all, Dominion – which filed the $1.6 billion lawsuit – is trying to prove that those who run Fox knew that Trump’s statements were false.but that they aired them anyway, as they were looking for profits.
