Three separate shootings in Florida leave 3 dead, including one girl
At least three people, including a 9-year-old girl, were killed. in three separate shootings near Orlando (Florida), while U.S. authorities have reported the arrest of a suspect in the deaths: a 19-year-old man.
One of the deceased was a communicator for the Spectrum News 13 television channel.who had gone to cover the news of the first shooting, said John Mina, sheriff of Orange County (central Florida), at a press conference.
Mina confirmed that two members of a Spectrum News 13 team. were displaced to the place where a mother and her daughter were attacked and also were shot at on Wednesday afternoon. One of the journalists was killed and the other was wounded.
The woman and her nine-year-old daughter were shot in their home Where they were found by investigators. The girl was unable to recover from the gunshot wounds and died.
The shootings began on Hialeah St. in the morning hours of this Wednesday, where a woman in her 20s was shot to death.
Several people have been taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment, but their conditions are unknown, said the digital media outlet wesh.com.
At the press conference, the authorities said. one person was detained at the scene of one of the shootings.
“We have detained the person believed to be responsible for this morning’s murder, as well as this afternoon’s shooting,” Mina said.
“He is Keith Melvin Moses, age 19. He is being formally charged with the murder as of this morning and. we expect additional charges for the shootings of the four people this afternoon.“, added the sheriff, who added that. the young man “has a long criminal record, which includes weapons charges, aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon.robbery and grand larceny.
“It is unclear why exactly they were attacked.and we’re certainly going to look into that,” the sheriff said of the television reporters.
On his website, Spectrum News 13 mentioned that, for the time being, will not publish the names of the members of the film crew victims of the shooting.
