Pepi interest from Feyenoord and PSV – Fortuna coach Vélazquez leaves

Back already tomorrow with transfer blog
We’re calling it quits here, the premier league season is over. But don’t panic: tomorrow we will be back with a transfer blog, where we keep track of the comings and goings of new players.
Thanks for today, see you tomorrow!
Ten Hag: Antony ‘probably’ fit for FA Cup final
Antony is on the way back. Manchester United will probably have the Brazilian winger available for the FA Cup final against Manchester City, according to coach Erik ten Hag. The former Ajacied’s injury is not too bad, although he will be missing Sunday’s game against Fulham. “He will probably be back next week,” Ten Hag said before kickoff.
Antony was carried off by stretcher a few days earlier in the game with Chelsea (4-1). Initially, there were fears of serious injury. “It looked bad,” Ten Hag said. “But after examination, the medical staff was able to reassure us.”
Manchester United is already certain of playing in the Champions League next season. Under Ten Hag’s leadership, the club also won the League Cup this year.
Fortuna coach Velázquez leaves
Trainer Julio Velázquez is leaving Fortuna Sittard, the Limburg club confirmed to NOS. The Spanish trainer was appointed after the departure of Sjors Ultee at the beginning of this season. Velázquez was given the task of keeping Fortuna in the premier league. That succeeded, Fortuna finished thirteenth, well above the relegation line.
Pepi confirms interest Feyenoord and PSV
Ricardo Pepi confirmed to NOS that Feyenoord and PSV have shown interest. The striker is keen to leave German side Augsburg and hopes to stay in the premier league.
The striker played last season for FC Groningen, where he scored 12 goals in 29 games.
Veerman and family threatened after Van Nistelrooij departure
Joey Veerman and his family received threats last week after the departure of trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij. He tells this after the match he won against AZ.
Veerman would be mentioned in various media as one of the players who were not satisfied with Van Nistelrooij. Nonsense, says Veerman. “I find that unbelievable if you start calling names without any knowledge. I get all threats in, my whole family, it’s really unbelievable.”
“A lot of things have been said and written. I did feel slightly surprised, I must say,” Veerman said. “The leak supposedly came from my business manager. And he’s all getting death threats. It’s seriously ridiculous. What some guys are trying to do is really unfilmable. I’m really very pissed about this past week.”

Veerman and family threatened after departure of Van Nistelrooij: ‘Is a shit world’
“I’m going to be a father in 15 weeks and there are all these reactions under the post with a picture of an ultrasound of my girlfriend. And they are not mellow.” On the sometimes so dark sides of the soccer world, Veerman is clear: “A shit world.”
Veerman was in contact with Van Nistelrooij just two days ago, via an app. “I wished him the best of luck and told him that everything that comes in the media with my name underneath it is not true.”
Van den Boomen first reinforcement Ajax
Branco van den Boomen is Ajax’s first reinforcement for next season. His management has confirmed this to NOS.
The 27-year-old midfielder comes over from French side Toulouse. Van den Boomen played in the youth academy of Ajax, but never really broke through in Amsterdam. He did play in Jong Ajax.
Van den Boomen’s transfer is the first play Sven Mislintat, the new technical director at Ajax, brings in.
TWE-AJA | 52′ Goal Twente
How quickly can you give away a lead? Twente gets to 2-1 against Ajax. Alvarez is the only Ajax player who does not step in for offside and therefore Julio Pleguezuelo is able to head a free kick in just like that.
Cheers can be heard in Alkmaar, because if AZ now wins over PSV it passes Ajax for third place. By the way, Ajax left Brobbey behind in the dressing room, looking at the cheering Twente players with a disheveled face and a bag of ice on his thigh.
TWE-AJA | 46′ Goal Twente
That’s a nice start to the second half in Enschede: 1-1. Dramatic start by Ajax: the Amsterdammers kick off, Taylor delivers but immediately, after it Alvarez suffers very clumsy ball loss which produces the equalizer after a good cross from Brenet. Ugalde heads in.
Maybe this will give AZ some hope in Alkmaar, because if Ajax loses and AZ wins against PSV, AZ will pass the Amsterdammers.
AZ-PSV | 37′ Balance in Alkmaar
PSV and AZ are balanced in Alkmaar, PSV started a bit better, then AZ started to come a bit, but no goals yet. Although Guus Til just got a huge chance to head the 1-0 in. If things still go wrong later, this chance still haunts the mind.
And AZ will have to come out anyway, they have to win anyway, and they will also hear at halftime that Ajax is ahead at FC Twente.
Ajax at 1-0! And it’s a beautiful goal: Brobbey is played in, puts his body into it and finds the Tadic who runs along, who cleverly strokes the ball. He doesn’t cheer, against his old club.
Whether it was fully deserved is questionable, as Twente started much better.
For the CL tickets, it means nothing special for a while, as PSV is still at 0-0 against AZ.
AZ-PSV | 12′ PSV pushes forward
PSV has started energetically, trying to play forward soccer. El Ghazi is dangerous, likes to make his actions and Simons also plays characteristically, he dribbles and is purposeful, fiddling with Sugawara for a while.
AZ coach Jansen stands by the dugout and gives instructions, he also sees that things are not going quite right with his men.
CAM-RKC | 8′ Goal Cambuur?
Cambuur is not going to give it to RKC this afternoon. The Leeuwardeners are already relegated, but get off to a nice start, they score, but the goal is disallowed.
It was hands from Uldrikis, the striker who is not playing a pleasant season, he hasn’t scored yet this season.
Royal Antwerp close to national title
Time for a little trip to Antwerp, because that is where Royal Antwerp FC, the club of Marc Overmars, Mark van Bommel, Calvin Stengs and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, seems to be heading for the national title.
Royal Antwerp needed only a win over Royale Union SG in the playoffs and were up 1-0 within 15 minutes. Goal by that other Dutchman: Vincent Janssen.
The premier league season is almost over, but not everything is decided yet. In the final round of games, there are still four matches to pay extra attention to, those of AZ-PSV, FC Twente-Ajax, SC Heerenveen-Go Ahead Eagles and SC Cambuur-RKC Waalwijk.
Everything starts simultaneously, as usual on the final match days, at 2:30 pm.
