The ball is in the church: Henk Fraser will be trainer of RKC Waalwijk next season. Both parties had been negotiating for a while. The 56-year-old coach succeeds Joseph Oosting, who is transferring to FC Twente, for two seasons.

Late last year, Fraser left FC Utrecht after he was discredited for cross-border behavior. He had grabbed player Amin Younes by the throat at training.

As a player, Fraser became champion with Feyenoord. He then served as trainer with ADO Den Haag, Vitesse, Sparta Rotterdam and FC Utrecht. Fraser won the KNVB cup with Vitesse in 2017. He was also assistant to Louis van Gaal with the Dutch national team.

How does Fraser look back on leaving Utrecht? ‘Club couldn’t do anything else’

“I see a lot of potential within the club and am determined to work with the players, staff, management and supporters to maximize our potential,” Fraser said of his appointment.
