PEC Zwolle lost expensive points in the first division on a visit to Jong PSV. By a 3-1 defeat Dick Schreuder’s team lost the lead. Heracles Almelo is now first on goal difference.

ADO Den Haag saw its last chance to participate in the playoffs for promotion go up in smoke. Defeat at Jong Ajax means the gap with place eight is now seven points, with two games to go.

PEC is already promoted, as the first two teams in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie promote directly, but the title battle is still undecided. PEC recorded as many as 19 goal attempts. However, that yielded only one goal, an own goal by Jenson Seelt. PSV scored three and therefore won.

Jason van Duiven celebrates his 1-0

It was precisely Jason van Duiven, born in Almelo, who hurt PEC. He scored the first goal himself and gave an assist to Livano Comenencia for the 2-1. For the defender it was his first goal in professional soccer. Van Duiven now stands at 14 goals in the first division.

After the 2-1 deficit, PEC still tried hard. Lennart Thy shot hard at the post. But in the end it was Jong PSV that scored. The Canadian Simon Colyn finished in injury time.

PEC plays Roda JC and Helmond Sport in the remaining matches, Heracles meets NAC and Jong Ajax.

Kristian Hlynsson celebrates one of his goals

At Jong Ajax, Kristian Hlynsson was the big man. He scored two of the four goals against ADO Den Haag and assisted Donny Warmerdam and Mika Godts on the other two.

Coach Dave Vos’ team eventually won 4-2 against Dick Advocaat’s team. With the defeat, ADO Den Haag’s chances of making it to the playoffs are gone.

TOP Oss played a draw at Jong AZ, Ilounga Pata was responsible for the Brabant goal. Ernest Poku equalized shortly before the end: 1-1. At Jong Utrecht against FC Den Bosch it remained 0-0.
