Thousands of supporters welcome PSV squad with fireworks and chants

In Eindhoven, thousands of PSV fans celebrated the club’s players and staff after winning the KNVB Cup. Around midnight, the players’ bus arrived at the Philips stadium. There the players were sung to and welcomed with fireworks.

The stadium in Eindhoven opened to supporters at 9:45 pm.

And those celebrated with the players as they returned from the Kuip with the cup:

The club says that not only the PSV squad and staff should be honored, but also the fans. “The atmosphere that prevailed during the cup final at De Kuip contributed to the final victory. Therefore, we want to celebrate this together,” the club writes.

PSV won the cup final from Ajax after taking penalties, as it was still tied 1-1 even after the extension. It is the 11th time for the Eindhoven club to capture the cup.
