Roma and Milan keep pace in Serie A

NOS Football–
In the Italian Serie A, number four AC Milan and number five AS Roma played to a draw at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. Two late goals made it 1-1.
In the messy first half, in which play was often stagnant, there were few chances. Milan had the ball and saw Fikayo Tomori tap wide from a corner. At the other end, Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, the man of the 4-1 against Feyenoord, shot against a teammate in a promising position.
Abraham breaks the spell
Roma, without the injured Georginio Wijnaldum and Rick Karsdorp, got away well when a ball from Alexis Saelemaekers flew just over. Milan was stronger, but could not push through and seemed to be left with a hangover after a diagonal shot by Briton Tammy Abraham (1-0) in injury time.
Through Saelemaekers, it still equalized deep into injury time. This brings both teams to 57 points.
Battle for Champions League places
Milan and Roma are barely dissimilar this season, having drawn twice against each other and a goal difference of +14. Milan has only scored more often and is therefore fourth and Roma fifth.
Internazionale can also reach 57 points on Sunday with a win over Lazio, the No. 2 in Serie A, while Napoli can become champions.
The battle for fourth place is of great importance for both teams. The top four in Serie A advance directly to the group stage of the Champions League and the number five receive a ticket to the Europa League.
Roma can also secure a place in the Champions League by winning the Europa League.
