FC Twente recaptures premier league lead, scare over Kaptein injury

FC Twente has regained the lead in the women’s premier league. At home, ADO Den Haag was swept aside with a regular victory: 2-0.

The blow to the victory was the loss of Wieke Kaptein. The 17-year-old midfielder, named Talent of the Year in the premier league last season, received her first invitation to the Orange women on Tuesday. The question is whether she can report to Zeist on Monday.

Elena Dhont gave the Tukkers the lead after just under a quarter of an hour. With a controlled foot movement, she slid the ball out of the air past goalkeeper Barbara Lorsheijd.
