U.S. and South Korea organize largest military exercise in their history
The United States and South Korea have planned the largest military exercise in their history for June on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the alliance between the two countries.
The South Korean Ministry of Defense has indicated that. the announced program is designed to demonstrate technological advantage. of the respective militaries and to underscore the interest in “the achievement of peace by force through action,” as reported by the news agency Yonhap.
“We are planning to hold a number of events, through which we wills the armies of South Korea and the US. can show to the international community and to North Korea the achievements we have made in the military sector and defense,” said an official on condition of anonymity.
These joint exercises, which are scheduled for June, will involve. the mobilization of high-tech military equipment.as detailed by the ministerial portfolio.
This announcement comes a day before Washington and Seoul conclude military maneuvers. eleven-day joint military exercises in the region that have been aimed at “protecting freedom in the area” and the intention to send a message to North Korea. as it threatens to develop its nuclear program.
As part of these exercises, Pyonyang has carried out the launching of several ballistic missiles.The U.S. is expected to take further steps following this decision by its neighboring country with the U.S. authorities.
