The Dutch women’s national team will play a practice match against Germany ahead of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The team of national coach Andries Jonker meets the losing finalist of the last European Championship and number 2 in the world rankings on Friday, April 7, at 8 p.m. at the Fortuna Sittard stadium.

Four days later, Poland is the opponent at Het Kasteel in Rotterdam. Germany, like the Netherlands, has qualified for the World Cup. The German women managed to win the tournament twice, in 2003 and 2007. They are also considered among the favorites at next summer’s World Cup.

Last month, the Orange practiced twice against Austria, in Malta. The first game was lost 2-1, the second the Orange won 4-0.

At the previous World Cup, the Orange lost in the final to the United States. The women will meet that team next summer in the group stage. Group E also consists of Vietnam and Portugal, against whom the Orange will play their first match on July 23.
