‘It’s getting better by the day’

There was some laughter when Dick Advocaat interrupted his retirement for the umpteenth time and joined ADO Den Haag as a trainer at the age of 75.
But quietly ADO is competing for the period title in the first division, plays PSV in the quarterfinals of the cup on Thursday and qualification for the nacompetition through the regular league is also still an option.
ADO is at it again. “We are still a team that is difficult to beat, with a lot of energy,” concluded Advocaat, three months after taking over from the sacked Dirk Kuijt.
Better every day
Nine official duels ADO is now already undefeated, in 2023 no game has been lost yet. “All is not yet top,” Advocaat believes. “But you also see at training that it’s getting better by the day.”

The league duels with FC Den Bosch (Sunday, away) and Heracles Almelo (next Monday, at home) are more important in view of the objective. ADO wants to get promoted. Even that sounded laughable three months ago, but everything is open again.
