Vampire Survivors will apparently receive a live-action film, but there will be no shortage of difficulties

British studio Poncle has published in recent days a post on the Steam page of its popular Vampire Survivors in which he took stock of future updates and plans for the game, which apparently also include a live action movie.
In April 2023, a Deadline report had revealed that the Story Kitchen production company was working on an animated series of Vampire Survivors. This project has not been heard from since, with Poncle instead mentioning a live action film in its early 2025 summary.
“We are still working with Story Kitchen on a live action film, respecting all strikes and taking our time to figure out how to get it right,” the post reads. “As mentioned last year, instead of doing things just to do them we preferred to wait to find the right partners, considering also that doing something related to Vampire Survivors that is not a video game requires good ideas, creativity and a great knowledge of the game.”
“Please remember that Vampire Survivors does not have a story (right?), so no one can predict what a movie will be like-that makes it exciting. This year we should also be able to reveal other ‘cross-media’ projects we are working on,” Poncle concluded.
It is currently unclear whether the Vampire Survivors animated series has morphed into this live-action film or whether Poncle and Story Kitchen are simply working on two different projects simultaneously. In any case, it seems that we will have to wait quite some time to see an eventual Vampire Survivors live action film.
