The Last of Us, Italian release date for second season of TV series

More than two years after the announcement, HBO has finally revealed the release date for the second season of the TV series of The Last of Us.

We’ve known since the beginning of the year that the sequel to the acclaimed Naughty Dog game adaptation would start in April, and now we have a much more precise date. In fact, the American broadcaster made it known last night that The Last of Us will return to the United States on April 13.

As for Italy, Sky announced with a tweet that it will air the second season of The Last of Us starting April 14, thus a few hours after the broadcast in America. Three new posters showing Joel, Ellie and Abby were also released for the occasion.

“After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up with them, dragging them into conflict with each other and into a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” is the brief official description of The Last of Us’ 2023 sequel, which is set to be decidedly more dramatic than the first season.

Early last year, the production team for the second season of The Last of Us unveiled some of the new actors in the cast. We know that Kaitlyn Dever will take the role of Abby, while Young Mazino will be Jesse, accompanied by Isabela Merced as Dina, Catherine O’Hara, Danny Ramirez, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle and Spencer Lord. Also returning will be stars Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria.

The second season of The Last of Us will arrive on Sky on April 14.
