Sifu’s live-action film is still in the works, and Netflix is involved in the production

It has been more than two years since the announcement of the live-action film of Sifu: After all this time, apparently the film is still in the works, and today we also have some production updates.
As reported by Deadline, Netflix has joined the staff of the film adaptation of Sloclap’s game, and will most likely handle distribution. The streaming platform also tapped T.S. Nowlin to write the screenplay, while Chad Stahelski and 87Eleven Entertainment will collaborate with Story Kitchen on the production.
Further details about Sifu’s film, however, have not been revealed. In fact, at the moment we do not even know when it will be released, but considering that work would seem to still be at a very early stage it may be some time before we have any new information.
Sifu tells a story of revenge set in modern-day China. It follows the adventure of the student of the master of a martial arts school who tries to avenge the murder of his mentor. Thanks to a magical talisman, with each death our hero comes back to life, but there is a price to pay: with each use, the protagonist ages. Should he age too quickly, his death would become permanent.
