CD Projekt Red announces a Cyberpunk 2077 live-action project: it will be made together with Anonymous Content

As well as reporting new sales figures for Cyberpunk 2077 and its new expansion Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red announced this afternoon that it has entered into a collaboration with the production company Anonymous Content to work on a live-action project set in the Cyberpunk universe.

This project is in a very early stage of development, and a search has just begun for a screenwriter who “can tell a completely new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.” The producers will be Garrett Kemble, David Levine, Ryan Schwartz and Bard Dorros on behalf of Anonymous Content. AC Studios will be the studio for the project, which will be developed in close collaboration with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team. More details about this project will be shared soon.

Anonymous Content is an independent company known for producing Emmy-winning series such as True Detective and Mr. Robot, as well as Oscar-winning films such as The Revenant and Spotlight. As part of the collaboration, CD Projekt Red will work directly with Head of Television Garret Kemble, Development Director Ryan Schwartz, and Creative Director David Levine, an industry veteran who previously served for more than 10 years as EVP and Co-Head of Drama at HBO, where he oversaw the production of series such as True Detective, Westworld, and True Blood.

CD Projekt Red, after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, has put a lot of focus on making Cyberpunk a cross-media project: we saw this with the successful anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, while the novel NO_COINCIDENCE written by Rafal Kosik was released this year. A board game, moreover, is in the works.
