PEC Zwolle presents Jansen as new coach at lightning speed: ‘Maintain main goal’

NOS Football–
Johnny Jansen is the new trainer of PEC Zwolle. The 48-year-old Jansen takes over from Dick Schreuder, who announced this morning that he is leaving the promoted club.
Jansen had been active in Lebanon since this spring, where he was in charge of Safa SC. From 2019 to January 2022, he was head coach in the premier league at sc Heerenveen, where he was fired after disappointing performance.
The Heerenveen-based coach signed a two-season contract with the Zwolle-based team, with an option for another year. He will take Ronnie Pander with him as assistant. The two already worked together at Heerenveen as well.
“I am enormously looking forward to starting work at PEC Zwolle. The club was in the premier league for ten years and, after last year’s relegation, proved last season that it still belongs at that level,” Jansen said in a message from PEC.
‘Maintaining main goal’
“In the coming period I want to start building the team and at the same time continue on the chosen path. PEC Zwolle stands for well-kept and attacking soccer, entertaining the public, but also working hard with a fit squad, because that’s where the team really distinguishes itself. With that mix, together we will go for a nice season in which maintaining the club’s position will be our main goal,” said the new coach.
