‘Bundesliga always been my dream’

NOS Football–
Vaclav Cerny is leaving FC Twente for German side VfL Wolfsburg after three seasons. The Czech outfielder, one of the tastemakers in Enschede this season, signs a four-season contract with the number eight of the Bundesliga.
The 25-year-old Cerny, who still had a two-season contract with Twente, is eager to get started in Bundesliga. “I can hardly wait until we start. The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world. It has always been my dream to play there and I am very happy to wear the Wolfsburg shirt next season.”
Conference League
Cerny began his career as a professional footballer with Ajax in 2015, before joining Twente via FC Utrecht in 2020. Where things didn’t want to run smoothly at Amsterdam and Utrecht, he flourished in Enschede.
Last season in particular, the Czech managed to impress. He played a total of 41 games, scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists. He helped the club not only to fifth place in the premier league, but also to the Conference League via the playoffs.
Sebastian Schindzielorz, Wolfsburg’s sporting director, is pleased with Cerny’s arrival: “He is a very dangerous player, who has shown his qualities impressively in Enschede and is far from finished with his development. We are convinced that in Wolfsburg he can take the next step in his career and will be an important reinforcement for our attack.”
